Aluminum Diamond-plate Binder
I got tired of binders falling apart, so I made one that wouldn't.
The outside of the binder. It's made of 1/8th inch diamond plate aluminum. My first inclination was to try for stainless steel or titanium, but stainless turned out to be far too heavy and titanium prohibitively expensive.
Another view of the outside. Ooooooo, shiny.
The inside of the binder. The diamond plate is only textured on one side. The lose paper 'pocket' can be seen on the left. A triangle of chain ensures that nothing falls out.
A close-up of the hinge construction. Piano hinge and rivets. The clasp is held on by bolts.
One of the page separators I made to go along with the aluminum binder. These are just satin finish steel.
